Lenovo’s X300 apparently is the answer the Apple MacBook Air. I recently got a MacBook Air and so far, I’m *really* satisfied with it. Lenovo is clearly aiming for the MacBook Air. On the landing page for the X300, they list the X300’s unique capabilities: 3 USB ports (1 for the MBA), up to 10 hours unplugged (I think the MBA claims 5 hours), an Ethernet port (the MBA does not have one, it’s only wireless) and an integrated DVD burner (the MBA doesn’t have one either).
One thing I noticed as well was the integrated microphone and headphone plugs. Now the MBA does have a headphone plug, but it does not have a microphone plug! Wow, I didn’t even notice this. Or is it one of those combined plugs?
Anyway, I’m never going to get one of those anyway. I spent about 2 hours on a Windows machine today, installing the video security system in my apartment complex, where we have a Axis camera (not accessible by SOAP fortunately) catching anybody that enters and leaves the building. I installed NetCamCenter today, which works quite okay, but these 2 hours of Windows were enough for the coming 2 years, so I’ll probably stick with the MBA ![]()
