Ever since the XmlHttpRequest was introduced (Mozilla 1.0, IE5) we imagined writing a book about it. Unfortunately, the publishers we contacted had never this bit of intriguing functionality that makes web applications about a 1000 times more dynamic and oh so attractive 
. They didn’t think it would be a big success.
However, thanks to several people where I’d like to name Dion in particular, we were able to get a really good deal just a week ago. We’ll be starting to write the book pretty soon! This is the cover:
